We hired Joe to do many things around the home we'd just bought. He started out doing adequate work, but before he finished one job, he would demand a "float" and said he couldn't continue working without it, then he would start another job before finishing the job we'd already paid for, and demand a "float" for that. He never finished a single job we paid him for, and we paid him thousands of dollars. He installed two floors so badly we have to redo them at our own expense, and we will probably have to replace most of it because he damaged it with the way he installed it. He installed the bathroom faucet backwards, he installed the trip lever in the bathtub wrong so the tub won't fill up, he installed the water pipes wrong so the water coming out of the tub is barely tepid, he did an atrocious job of mudding the drywall, he did things we told him we didn't want done and charged us for them, he damaged a wall that was already finished, he damaged our vanity in 3 places, and he damaged our tub. He charged us twice for something that was never done, and charged a HAZMAT fee even though he did nothing that could ever be described as HAZMAT (fraudulent charge). He put up a wall that was out of plumb in one direction in one part of it and out of plumb in the other direction in another part. When he left, he stole a few hundred dollars of tools and materials that we paid for, including a roll of PEX pipe that he never finished installing. When he was sanding the drywall in our laundry/utility room, he never bothered to turn off the furnace, so large amounts of drywall dust were sucked into our furnace and blown all over the house through our HVAC ducts. In one of the rooms where he was installing flooring, he and his helper, Ty, were supposed to shim and level the new subflooring they installed in part of the floor. They didn't do that so the new subflooring is too low in relation to the older subflooring. In order to level our new luxury vinyl plank, they shimmed that up (on top of the subflooring), with pieces of cardboard boxes and with some of our luxury vinyl plank! That was the room where he installed the flooring improperly, voiding the warranty, with the result that we have to completely redo the flooring in that room and replace a lot of it at our own expense. The list of things he did badly or not at all is very long. And when we disputed his final attempt to gouge us, he tried to extort us by threatening to report us to the EPA and have us thrown out of our home (an indictment of his work if ever there was one). Do not hire this man or this company. He will defraud you out of every penny he possibly can. We have pictures and videos of everything, we have receipts for items purchased, and we have the fraudulent invoices (which, by the way, he NEVER gave us until AFTER we had already paid. There are many more problems than the ones I have listed here, but I think these are enough to scare anyone away from ever doing business with Joe and Michele Santistevan and their company, All Day Enterprises.
