The L.I.F.E. Academy is a tuition-free, open-enrollment Lee County charter school designed for students age 11-22 with intellectual disabilities. Our students learn the meaning of success! The L.I.F.E. Academy is designed to promote self advocacy, and develop life skills for independent living. Students with intellectual disabilities who are entering grades six through twelve (ages 11-22) are welcomed, as well as post-graduate students who have not yet reached the maximum age of 22. Our individualized programs focus on academic skills, daily life skills and vocational/workforce skills. These three areas help students become increasingly well-adjusted and productive members of their community in post-school activities. At the Goodwill L.I.F.E. Academy, our goal is the same as yours: To make sure your student reaches his or her fullest potential and becomes an independent, productive adult. Each of our students receives the services necessary to provide him or her with the maximum opportunity for success. How do we do this? Our curriculum and learning experiences provide a balance of three vital educational components: Academics for daily living, life skills, and vocational training. Together with you and your student, we work to develop individual goals, and then determine the services, strategies, and accommodations needed to nurture success. At the L.I.F.E. Academy, our students know the meaning of success daily. In our safe, unique, and orderly learning environment, students' needs are met in small classes and with individual attention from faculty and staff.
