For over 20 years, Accelerate Institute has earned a successful track record of closing the achievement gap. Originally founded as the Inner-City Teaching Corps, the organization is driven by mission, results and a sense of possibility to solve the achievement gap and provide an equal education for all children. Today, Accelerate Institute is anchored by four innovative programs that converge together for a singular focus of accelerating student achievement: - The Ryan Fellowship: Identifying and developing aspiring principals with expertise in accelerating student achievement. - Alain Locke Charter School: Training school leadership teams in achievement—accelerating practices at Chicago’s highest performing K-8 urban charter school. - The Accelerator: Designed specifically for current principals to continue their full-time work in urban schools while getting customized advisory support to accelerate success. Includes on-the-job support. - The Ryan Award: The first national award honoring transformational school principals in the United States, helping to develop the next generation of school leaders.
