Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s East Side near the corner of Humboldt and Brady Streets, Hedwig House has become a warm and comfortable home for many residents who enjoy the character of the building and proximity to the neighborhoods they know and love. Our location offers easy access to supermarkets, medical services, churches, and restaurants. Our mission at Hedwig House is to foster the quality of life and independent living for older adults by providing appropriate, low income apartments in Milwaukee and by facilitating access to services seniors require. Hedwig House offers one bedroom and efficiency senior apartments, each with unique and well-designed features. This small, but quaint and cozy building provides residents with opportunities to make new friends and join in social activities. Hedwig House offers security and comfort for all residents. Activities such as games and potluck dinners are provided for our residents if they wish to participate. Residents of Hedwig House must be at least 62 years of age and are required to meet certain income restrictions as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Qualifying residents will only be required to pay 30% of their adjusted income as their monthly rental charge.
