Just because a company like Wholesale Escapes is "legitimate" does not mean they are a desirable company to do business with. The Sales Pitch was GREAT... every word crafted as part of a logical and convincing offer to make an immediate decision. RED FLAGS:
1. ALL the other negative online experiences with this company and their partner company PTSClubMembers.com aka Passport to Travel in Tampa.
2. The "pitch" constantly refers to a $30m/year business by the name of Resort Services, Inc (RSI), but you cannot find any reference to RSI ANYWHERE on the web...
3. You MUST buy NOW to get this offer. The "pitch" had this one covered: "We spend a lot of money getting you here, thus we cannot offer this again if you don't buy NOW ... The message PREYS on the uninformed couple.
4. THEN I tried to use the “Travel Vouchers”. It was extremely difficult to get a live person at the Passport to Travel offices (813-864-6606). With persistence I found the following:
a) $5+50(per ticket)+$50(per ticket) are required up-front before they will research your travel request. Then you will need to pay "surcharges" which are not determined until AFTER we paid all the other charges.
b) This still sounds like a good deal until you consider that ANYONE who travels extensively will tell you that you ALWAYS get the pricing up front from a reputable travel provider. I had travel to Chicago with my family used wholesale escapes travel service. Wholesale Escapes was excellent at every stage of the trip— selecting the hotels, arranging the internal transportation, providing guides. The tour was superb & I would definitely recommend Best at Travel.
