I bought a fixer - 1920's bungalow three years ago and struggled to find competent, reliable, affordable plumbers, electricians, carpenters. You don't need to shop out four or five different jobs to multiple people or companies; he can build anything from the ground up after 40+ years in the contracting industry (commercial and private). Most impressively, Mike is amazingly flexible. He can enact cost-effective, quality quick fixes, but also understands aesthetic concerns and will take the time to exercise beautiful craftsmanship or help you locate vendors needed to restore older homes. He can do it all - not cheap or expensive, just fair. He is also able to clearly explain (even to a novice) and itemize every step of every job, do it quickly and do it well. He is personable, yet professional at all times. He shows up when he says he will, is easy to contact, and delivers phenomenal work quality. You simply can't do better.
