Stoney Ridge Contractors (aka Stoney Ridge, LLC) New Providence, PA We initially picked Sam's (owner) Stoney Ridge to do our roof, even though his company was only 3 years old, and the worker he brought with him to the estimate had only 1 year of experience. He had a *much* lower estimate, and this was for a lifetime-warranty GAF roof; so it seemed safe. Once I picked him, he (then) said it would be a month before he could do the work. The 5th week from the date of estimate, when not hearing from Stoney Ridge, I called the number on the contract to see when they might be ready to put the roof on. I got a very surprised lady, who said this wasn't the number anymore -- and that I should call Sam directly on his Cell. When I got Sam (who responded to this call 5 days later), he said that the roof would go on the Thur of the 6th week from estimate. Getting a little concerned, I asked Sam 3 times to detail how the lifetime warranty on the roof would be handled -- should Sam be unable to do the warranty work. Sam seemed offended that I asked for details on the warranty, saying to "Trust him, he'd be there" and he never sent anything regarding how this would be handled to us. Sam called at 6:45pm the night before he was to put the roof on, to say he wouldn't be there the next day. He had "other work". Now -- do you think that he had our shingles and the crane ordered and ready to go for the next morning -- if was calling at 6:45pm the night before? I don't. (more next)
