I'm sharing this review to help future homeowners make informed decisions. Damas Construction Company, based in Maitland, FL, holds a Certified General Contractor license and ranks in the top 5% of Florida contractors according to BuildZoom, with a score of 108. Their portfolio includes nearly 90 projects over the past three years, ranging from new constructions to home additions and remodels, with permit values often exceeding $200K.
However, my experience-and that of others-has raised serious concerns about post-sale accountability. Despite a one-year warranty being part of the contract, requests for repairs have reportedly gone unanswered. One homeowner cited plumbing issues stemming from improperly installed fixtures, and noted a complete lack of response from the builder.
While the company's credentials and volume of work suggest strong operational capacity, the lack of responsiveness to warranty claims is troubling. If you're considering Damas for a major build, I strongly recommend vetting their post-sale support and speaking directly with past clients. A builder's reputation isn't just about what they construct-it's about how they stand behind it.
Damas Construction has been nothing short of a nightmare. After just five months, my home suffered extensive flooding from the front to the back, leaving behind devastating water and mold damage. Despite countless calls and even threats of legal action, the company sent the same plumber-Santos-who caused the issue in the first place. He arrived unprepared, borrowed my tools, hastily patched the leak, and left. Unsurprisingly, the problem returned, flooding my home again, forcing me to pay for additional water and mold mitigation. So far close to 30 thousand in damages.
My walls are now completely removed due to severe mold damage, and Tatiana Gonzales-the listing "agent" and apparent spokesperson for Damas-offered the absurd suggestion of spraying the walls to fix the issue. I eventually hired a professional plumber, who was appalled at the poor quality of the plumbing. Since then, I've uncovered leaks in the shower, under the kitchen sink, the dishwasher, and even the backyard hose. To make matters worse, there are multiple electrical hazards throughout the house that pose a serious fire risk.
After speaking with my neighbors, I realized I'm not alone-many of them are experiencing the same plumbing failures. wouldn't recommend Damas Construction to anyone. Stay far away from them and don't let the shiny things fool you. Anything that may look good came from Temu.
