AVOID ACTION EXCAVATING & SHAWN GEESEY AT ALL COSTS!!! This guy royally screwed up the back yard and now we cannot sell the property until another excavator comes in to fix what he has done. Avoid this hustler and go with a reputable company. I am executor of my father's estate and contracted Shawn Geesey AKA Action Excavating to fill a concrete in ground pool with dirt. To do this correctly, you must break up the entire bottom of the pool, fold the sides in, then compact or tamp each layer of dirt. Shawn agreed to do all of this for $4700. However, this mental midget didn't do anything that he said he would. First off, he drilled A SINGLE HOLE in the deep end of the pool using a 1.5" drill bit. He said "that's good enough for it to drain". I disagreed however he's the professional, right? Absolutely not! As he is filling the pool in, he uses wood and brush as part of the fill. To make matters worse, every new dump truck of dirt that went in was not tamped down. When I asked him why he was not compacting the fill he said that his skid steer running back and forth was more than enough to compact it. This guy has absolutely no clue what he is doing. That brings me to another point...he said he needed a 10' wide gap in the fence to bring his "excavator" in. On the day of the job, he showed up with a RENTED MINI SKID STEER! NOT TRUSTWORTHY. I had a terrible experience with the owner. He did not come when scheduled and REFUSED to fix problem saying it was not his fault. Needed a simple job to prep a site pad for a 10x30 shed. Needed top soil scraped to make sure building was level and backfill with screening. First he quoted me $800, then increased it to $1000. Waited all day for him to come when scheduled, and did not show up. Instead he came and rushed the job on the SAME day of the shed delivery when I was not home. He cut too far into the soil and created a hole where water now channels and pools up right in front of the shed. I asked him to come fix the problem and he said it was not his fault yet I NEVER HAD WATER POOL UP in that spot before he cut down into the ground. DO NOT CONTACT SHAWN FOR BUSINESS!!!!
