DO NOT HIRE. The owner/business isn't licensed or insured as a home improvement contractor in MD. It's illegal in MD to do home improvement contracting (including landscaping) without a license. His online reviews show a pattern/history of his taking deposits then not doing the work, not communicating, and not providing refunds. In our case, we made the mistake of paying him almost entirely upfront (over $10,000) for some basic landscaping & for redoing the brick & stone portion of our backyard. It took over 2 months & ultimately a threat of a lawsuit to get him to "finish" what he originally said was a one week job. Even then, parts of the work weren't completed, other parts were not what we asked or paid for, and a substantial portion of the work was poorly done. We didn't see his reviews or find out he didn't have a license until weeks after we paid him & were fighting daily to try to get him to show up.
