I looked forward to tax season for the past 10 years because it meant I would have the joy of working with Gail. All 10 years, she was on the ball getting my taxes done without a hitch and prior to March every year. She's a terrific human being. However, 2022 presented a very different experience. I received a notice from the IRS because my taxes hadn't been submitted. Confused u reached out to Gail. She was honest and expressed overlooking my submission and stated she would file late and complete it within 2 weeks. It was done as she promised. It was the first time in 10 yrs that she had forgotten to file my taxes. It did concern me but we've had a long relationship so I didn't give much thought. September 2022 I inquire about becoming incorporated. She confidently stated she was as up to the task even committing to doing more research about California tax and small business requirements. We played phone tag through November; I was hoping to speak with her to understand more about becoming incorporated. She insisted that I first pay her $900 and the. She would make time to talk to me. She never did. We are now at the end of February. She hasn't been responding to my calls, txts, or emails. I have received only 3 txts assuring me she would send me documents that day or week. 3 months later and I still do not have my incorporated documents. I don't even know if it's done. It's awful to lose our once great relationship, but it's now affecting my livelihood. I reached out to the family that had originally referred her to me a decade ago in hopes that he might be able to communicate with Gail. He informed me that they had to drop Gail as their accountant due to her lack of communication and completion of their taxes. It's sad we are at this juncture but I would think carefully about pursuing work with this tax service.
