I really enjoy going to Duffie's Exotic Bird Ranch. Mr McLamb has been raising birds for over 50 years and has over a 1000 exotic birds . They are in outdoor pens throughout his farm, as well as running all over the place. I have never seen so many cool birds. He has everything with wings. More than any zoo I've ever been too. From rare parrots to giant trumpeter swans. They hatch babies all year and many are native to North Carolina. Stop by for a walking tour or bring a group of 15 or more and Mr McLamb will show you around himself. Great for families and school / church groups and only 35 miles from Raleigh. Bus Parking, pick-nick facilities and bathrooms available. This is a real local gem for animal lovers.
