VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. He represented himself as a licensed General Contractor and cheated me of $26,000. He absconded with the money. Other customers whom I eventually talked to, reported that he did the same to them, start a job, get the deposit money, and then abandon the work. Here's how he works. He advertises in Craigslist and other internet engines. He offers you price you cannot resist. Starts the job by opening up the stairs, walls, etc. to bait you, buy cheap token materials to demonstrate some good faith, demands for deposit (in cash or check that can be instantly converted to cash), and then disappears. He hires day laborers to help him from Craigslist, bullies them to quit, and then refuses to pay them. He is not only unprofessional. He is not a good person. He targets vulnerable people like us. My husband is 85 years old and I am 63. we are both retired teachers with hard earned savings living frugal lives. We belong to a generation and culture that trusts people and take their word for it. Please protect yourself from shysters (police used this word to describe him) like David Grant. He does business as Grant Contracting, David Grant Maintenance, Grant Handyman. He operates out of his house at 34 Turnpike Rd. Southborough. He has apparently done this to many others because he was bragging that the police came to his house about a job complaint and told one of his day laborers who went to his house that he was in jail for 2 weeks.
