Please let me start out by saying that this review in NO WAY has anything to do with the workmanship of this company, "Outdoor Accessories Unlimited". I will NOT tarnish their quality of work, as I have never viewed their actual workmanship. But what this is about is their commitment and responsibility to pay their bills. I completed a job in which I was hired by Chris and Tina (the owners of Outdoor Accessories Unlimited). Chris's company wasn't able to do this job so they hired me to complete. I had so many issues with communication along with Chris not showing up to the jobsite, which is very important to me, since the owner of this project is paying for a completed job that is well done. This behavior started to alarm me, but I continued to follow through on my commitment to completing this job. I eventually had to involve the job owner's due to Chris and Tina not answering their phone calls, texts, and emails. Upon a meeting with the owners, I was given a copy of a very informal contract between the owner's and Chris. I wanted the owner to be happy and know that this behavior and lack of communication is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I assured the owners that since Chris and Tina hired me, I would be sure this job was completed and would exceed their expectations. I even paid money out of my own pocket just to ensure the completion. As the end of this project neared, the communication worsened. I have text messages, emails, phone calls, and word of mouth proof that started to scare me more. The negativity started to surface about receiving the finished payment. I even met up with Chris in a Tim Horton's parking lot, on Thanksgiving, where he handed me a check and promised that the balance would be paid by the following Monday. The "Boss" Tina, has to be explained why there is still a balance, by me. They also own a Christmas Decorating company, that Chris informed to me was "So busy". I have made multiple attempts to collect my balance and heard so many times, "The check will be in the mail". I do not consider a partial payment and running out on your responsibilities to pay their balance, acceptable behavior for business owners. As I started to do my own research, I noticed there is no address listed for this company. Their schedule is only Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I'm at a loss of words as to why websites allow this company to use their platforms and approve them as a "reputable" company. That really disheartens me. To me, as a business man myself, this shows the worse professionalism ever. It scares me that companies accept jobs they have to hire others for, accept the payments for it, and will not take care of their commitment for payment. When I am able to reach Chris, he insists not telling the "boss" (Tina) . "She doesn't need to be involved in our conversations," he says. I have noticed what little communication happens within this company, and Tina writes the checks. I do not have a recommendation for this company. I just want everyone to be aware of what little accountability these people are capable of.
