Seneke is an ensemble of committed artists that skillfully teach and perform traditional forms of West African music, song and dance. Seneke was established as a means of advancing the concept that by cultivating rhythmic patterns of expression based on harmony, love, and understanding; peaceful modes of living can be achieved for all human beings vis-a-vis comprehension of the many treasures that can be found in traditional African cultures. Cultivation of the mind is what we seek to express in our work and to touch in our audiences. Locally, or on tour, Seneke West African Percussion Ensemble offers varies range's of artistic experiences including performances, residences & artistic training. Our residence activities are a partnership between Seneke, the presenter and the community. We collaborate in formulating and implementing activities that respond to the unique needs of each audience.
