BEWARE!!! I started seeing Dr. Theodore after being on an anti-depressant prescribed by my general practitioner. I wanted someone who would spend more time working with me to figure out my medication. As a college student, I went through my school insurance program and found Dr. Theodore. I had to pay her in full, directly, and then submit a claim to my insurance company who would reimburse me. Pretty standard...but she was in network so as far as I understand that's not how you do things. After our 45 minute first session she told me I have major depressive disorder and increased my dosage. Fast forward a few months and she had increased my anti-depressant prescription two more times, I was on a medication typically prescribed for people with ADHD (after telling her I was having trouble concentrating, even though she made no attempt to diagnose me) as well as a highly addictive sleep medication (because the ADHD medication was keeping me awake). Granted a lot of this was my own fault for not speaking up but the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional and uninvolved and I ended up worse off. Oh and as the cherry on top...my insurance company sent the reimbursement to Dr. Theodore instead of me. I had to go through her to get my reimbursement. It's been almost a year of trying to get my money from her (even though she was paid twice) and she still owes me over $900. Unless you want to end up far worse off....do NOT go to Dr. Theodore. She is absolutely horrible.
