NO JUSTICE. NO PEACE. Had the late Attorney Billy C. Coleman (Saluda, SC), his friend, the late Richard “Dick” S. Clark, Jr. (Leesville, SC), & their cohorts (including Attorney Kathy O. Rushton (Saluda, SC), ATTORNEY CHRISTIAN G. SPRADLEY (SALUDA, SC) & Attorney Henrietta Gill (Batesburg-Leesville, SC) NOT been involved in the outright taking/secret selling, on March 28, 2014, of the I(E)rving family’s 110 acres of Saluda, SC farmland, then the I(E)rving family, on November 28, 2017, would have celebrated their 100th year of ownership of their property. David Irving, in 1904, when he was 19 years old, decided to marry 15-year-old Sallie Mae Williams, a resident of Saluda, SC. By the time David was 31 years old and Sallie Mae was 27 years old, they had brought six beautiful children into the world (Andrew, Sallie Mae, Minnie Lee, Mary, David John, & Alphonzo). “My father knew that his family needed a stable & secure place to call home &, not surprisingly, he was able to provide this with money he had (even with only a fourth grade education) honestly worked for & painstakingly saved,” recalled the late Rev. Thelma Joyce Irving Taylor who was the youngest daughter of the 13 children of David & Sallie Mae (Williams) Irving.“ Even while dying with Alzheimer’s disease, Rev. Irving Taylor, during the last days of her life, clearly remembered the fact that it was on November 28, 1917 that her father, David Irving, proudly paid $2,750.00, in cash, to Mrs. Eva Lou Mitchell in total payment for the 110 acres of farmland that was located on the back roads of Saluda, SC. “It was with help from his oldest six children & my mama,” Rev. Irving Taylor relayed to her grandchildren, “that papa was then able to build the family’s “ancestral” home on this property where I & my other six siblings (Mamie, Robert ‘Buster’, Baby Albert, Julius Winfield, Jessena Deloris, and William ‘Bill’ Theodore) were born and raised.” “When Coleman, Clark, Rushton, SPRADLEY, Gill & all their cohorts set out to take our land from us, there were no other explainable reasons for their devious actions other than it being because of their greed, hatred, envy & non-caring attitude about other human beings,” says David M. Greene, a third generation I(E)rving heir & namesake of his great grandfather. There was plenty of other “for sale” land in the Saluda area that was available back then in 2003 when they initially invaded my family. Our 110 acres (including my great grandmother’s 14 pecan trees & my great uncle’s then at least 10-year old timber) were ‘NOT FOR SALE’. These South Carolina attorneys & their cohorts just wanted our property out of our possession so badly until finally they, after tiring out from our decade long court battle with them, simply took pen & pencil in hand & deceitfully outright took this property & the majority of the money from their secret sale of it. It really is a total shame & absolute disgrace that, after receiving much complaint from the I(E)rvings about this terrifying & horrendous situation happening right here in America, that a number of American government officials & authoritative figures, over the past decade & a half, actually turned a death ear to the I(E)rvings’ fight against these evil, conniving so-called legal professionals & instead, chose to give, with their undivided attention & great appreciation, high recognition, special honor and/or total freedom from punishment to these well known, law abusing & manipulating thieves.” “And so,” says descendants of David & Sallie Mae (Williams) I(E)rving, “just in knowing that there is, indeed, a God up above who knows & sees all, we’re going to continue on & whenever, wherever, & however we can, we’re going to seek to obtain our justice for this most atrocious crime that was thrust upon us.
