In September 2018 I was referred to Wesley Jones of WesAmerica Mortgage Company by a very reputable lender who was unable to finance a property I was interested in purchasing, I began working with him to purchase a multifamily property. Wesley was very knowledgeable and prompt with all business matters and responding to any of my calls. After working to get under contract, I wired Wesley a total of $10,900.00 to a chase bank account, for an application fee and a property appraisal on October 25, 2018. Wesley then became delayed in his responses stating he was hospitalized due to shingles and dialysis. On November 7, 2018 I asked Wesley about the documents he was supposed to send me over a week ago in order to begin moving forward with the application process. Wesley emailed me a general residential mortgage loan application which required an NMLS ID to be provided. I became suspicious of Wesley, as he began giving an ample amount of excuses as to why his responses were delayed, or no progress was being made on my file. I requested a refund on December 8, 2018 in writing as required by his terms. I received a message from Claude Fields II, who identified himself as VP of Operations for WesAmerica Mortgage Company, stating that Wesley had been “sickened then hospitalized” and that he would be assisting on getting my file moved forward. I requested a refund in writing on December 11, 2018 for $10,900 from Wesley and Claude, I have not received a response or a refund.
