Horrible experience! NOT RECOMMENDED. Micah Deapen, dba M D Construction, has been paid 100% of the money required under the contract (over $10,000) but failed/refused to complete the project. Micah bid the project at approximately $8,500, with a project time of 24 days beginning August 1, 2012. Micah’s proposal requested 30% of the contract be paid up front with 25% paid at the midway point and 45% due upon completion of the project. We accepted Micah’s bid. We paid Micah a $3,000 deposit for him to begin on August 1, 2012. Almost immediately, he started missing days. The days that Micah did show up he would generally arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., take a very long lunch break and be gone by 4:00 p.m or so. Micah does not have a good work ethic. Well before Micah was at the midpoint Micah requested the 20% midpoint progress payment. Micah stated that times were tough for him and that he needed the money to pay his bills and feed his family. At this point, I genuinely liked Micah and agreed to pay the 20% progress payment, even though it wasn't due, so he could provide for his family. 3 plus months and $10,000+ later and the job is still not completed and Micah has repeatedly failed to show up to finish despite promises to do so. I have never written a negative review on anyone else. The two reviews I have previously posted were very positive. Bottom line - took all the money, refused to finish job he was paid for.
