I hired Donna Young of Earth First Inc. for a landscape consultation. Per her website under the What to Expect header she states: "During the initial consultation we present individual design options...". I have hired other landscape consultants and they provided a sketch at minimum as a deliverable from an initial consultation. Donna spent less than an hour with me and lives less than a mile away. The outcome of her visit was a $175 invoice and a referral to her husband's business. After coming to the realization there was not going to be any follow-up/design I proposed a settlement asking for a return of $100. She refused.
