I purchased a house last year. Part of the escrow was to have the septic system pumped. Lanik Enterprises was the company contracted to do the work. They charged over $700 to my escrow. Come to find out they subbed out the pumping to another company. Roll forward, this year my tenants called saying the sewage is backing up. I called out a septic company who charged $250 to pump, about the average. They said the tank was full, normally tanks don't have to be pumped until three years have passed. They also said the ground that covered the access ports was rock hard, it had not been disturbed in years. I remembered that I received something with my escrow papers. I found the invoice and called Lanik. The woman that I spoke with basically told me too bad. My advice, use another company. Avoid Lanik. Dan O'mara
