Gaeltacht Ireland was born out of a desire to share a wonderful and unique resource with the outside world, create revenue to help build a tourist infrastructure and create jobs on the Island. My name is Dermot Gallagher and I was born and raised on Arranmore Island, Co. Donegal. The economic state of the Island pushed me to follow the same path as so many before me, and I left. Individually my departure meant very little, cumulatively it added to the decline of the Island. By harvesting and shipping this turf to you we are trading a resource for one that will help secure a future for the Island and its people.
