I left my apartment in optimal condition after 6 years. I even painted back several walls even as they themselves never freshened up the paint every 3 years as required by the DOB and NYC law. The super inspected the apt before i left and fount it to his liking. I even gave them the keys 2 weeks in advance to facilitate them. I received a returned deposit check a month later and they had deducted several hundred for a claim on damages both I and the super know are fabricated. Their property is a giant dumpster. During my stay at the building, they have endorsed or been indifferent to harassment from other tenants or outsiders. Children would bang on my and other tenants' doors at 1am, a tenant installing a DJ dance studio in his apt and blasting music and lights into the courtyard all day long. People from outside the building will urinate or worse in the open courtyard behind the recycling bind. On one occasion even have s ex on the actual trash cans. Pushers would sell drugs in the courtyard or in the lobby. At the time of my departure, a homeless man was squatting under the stairs for about a week. After several times i complained about other tenants' behavior, Blashan encouraged me to confront said tenants myself. They refused to take any action even as i presented them the number of the camera the infractions were happening under, and provided them with timestamps, multiple times. Stay away if you are a decent tenant who would rather deal with a decent management agency
