Our history with the online survey began in 1996. The technology that drives modern interactive online survey instruments is now fairly commonplace, but in the mid 1990's it was not available in any form, nor even considered possible. Upon seeing a need for such an instrument, O'DONNELL developed the technology and implemented an online multi-page survey engine that enabled researchers to move complex CATI and CAPI projects to the Internet. We were awarded a United States patent on this technology (U.S. Patent Number 6,032,177), which we hold until May 23, 2017. All modern online survey instruments use the technology defined by this patent.
