Greek Cuisine is proud to welcome Chef George Kamaratos as their new head chef. George has been a mainstay in Richmond’s Greek dining and bakery scene for several years now. He invites the Carytown community to come in and try Greek Cuisine’s new menu with new treats from his native home in the Greek islands. Born on the Greek island of Karpathos, the second largest of the Dodecanese Islands, George Kamaratos grew up and acquired many of the classical Greek food and pastry recipes, which he is proud to offer at Greek Cuisine. Besides his family background, he also has extensive training as a pastry chef and chef de cuisine for over 15 years in New York City, Florida and New Jersey. In 1990, he moved back to his native island to assume and expand his family’s bakery and cafe. After 18 successful years in Greece, George and his family decided to return to Richmond. Now a mainstay in Richmond’s burgeoning Greek dining scene, George and his family are excited to bring a taste of his homeland to Greek Cuisine.
