My work represents ten years and 205,000 miles of photographs—starting out in a rusty 1989 Dodge Caravan minivan/motel—as well as many more miles on trips Up North, to the grocery store, the corner bar, the psychiatrist, etc. Not even the dog, who normally begs to ride with everyone including axe-murderers, will get into a car with me any more. My work represents ten years and 205,000 miles of photographs—starting out in a rusty 1989 Dodge Caravan minivan/motel—as well as many more miles on trips Up North, to the grocery store, the corner bar, the psychiatrist, etc. Not even the dog, who normally begs to ride with everyone including axe-murderers, will get into a car with me any more. Traveling the gravel roads and back alleys of this land (and of a few other countries) from the redwood forests to the New York islands, I have so far covered 36 states while taking photos of “given name” themed objects, primarily businesses and their signs. I’ve then used selected photographs to create collages and greeting cards. None of the photos has been digitally manipulated. What the customer sees is exactly what I saw.
