Evergreen Farm in Sterling, Massachusetts is a family operated choose-and-cut Christmas Tree farm. The farm was established by Bill and Julie Gauld in 1979. Clearing the forest and planting our first Christmas trees began in March of that year. Since then, we have grown significantly and now offer Balsam, Canaan, Concolor and Fraser Firs, as well as White Pine, Colorado Blue Spruce and other species of trees. In addition we have wreaths, roping, swags, mantel and table decorations, ornaments and other related items for sale in our Gift Shop. Many of these items are made at the farm by our family and staff. Evergreen Farm strives to provide high quality Christmas trees and other products while maintaining an environmentally friendly philosophy. We leave many trees and shrubs as cover and food for the wildlife with which we share the land. Wild turkeys, deer, hawks and other animals are seen on the farm frequently, and coyotes are sometimes heard howling as the sun sets. Leaving this habitat for the animals also helps the aesthetics of the farm. When you come to get your next Christmas tree, we will provide you with a map to help you find the type of tree you want, a saw to cut down the one you choose, and a tarpaulin or cart to help you drag your tree back to the shaking and baling area. While you watch, our crew will shake your tree to remove all the leaves, dead needles and other debris, then they will bale your tree in netting to make it easier to get into the house and set up. You will then enter our Carriage House Shop to browse our wreaths, roping and other decorations before paying our cashier. When all that is done, you and your family can have a cup of hot chocolate next to our warm fire. See you soon!
