My wife and I had a very negative experience in this restaurant: When we entered and approached the bakery counter/cash register, we waited while a woman customer in front of us completed her order and paid with cash. Wearing latex gloves, the man behind the counter -- who I later learned was Arthur W. Visconti, one of the owners -- placed the cash in the register and then made several entries on a nearby computer touch-screen. When that was completed, he greeted us and took our order which included one of the bagels in the bins behind him. To our astonishment, Visconti then used one of his hands to pick the bagel out of the bin and began to prepare it as ordered. He had not changed his gloves after handling the cash or touching the computer screen, and he had not used tongs or paper to protect the food from the germs that were surely on his gloves. I immediately asked Visconti to change his gloves and then prepare a different bagel for us. His demeanor soured instantly, and he demanded to know why he needed to change his gloves. When I told him it was for sanitary reasons, considering that he had just handled money and a computer screen, he pulled off his gloves, threw them in the trash along with the contaminated bagel, told a young female employee to prepare a different bagel, and then walked into a back room. (I thought to myself, this restaurant should be renamed, A Roll With An A-Hole!)
