Artist Statement
I use oil paint to share my view of the world. Creating what others may not see, I strive to express what the people in my paintings feel. Warmth, isolation, connectedness; each is unique but shares common needs and desires. People from all backgrounds share a sidewalk or a bus stop. Some are young, some old: all are human. Our humanity connects us.
I spend many hours observing people. In good weather, I paint quickly and take reference photos so I can finish back in the studio if necessary. During the long winter months, I work on composing larger scale paintings and making plans for the next year.
A sunny day brings me out to appreciate the variety, vitality and joy of life. The smell of hot pavement, the sound of laughter and traffic. Come share it with me.

I am working from a new art studio space I built producing fine art and commissioned art. Much of my art work is in corporate locations as well as private collections. I have been a commercial photographer for 35 years and for the last 20 been involved in stock photography production, working with top corporations in Minneapolis shooting annual reports and marketing materials as well as specializing in audio visual project. My stock photo images are being marketed through the top stock agencies, Corbis and Getty, as well as a multitude of smaller agencies.

My inspiration to create dog-centric art came from walking Marilyn, my Shar Pei around Lake Harriet for a summer. It led me to start my Dogs Around the Lakes events. Volunteering with Rotta Love plus, adopting George, my pit bull, were also influencing factors. As both people and dogs are social animals, I find it interesting to observe the connections between them. These connections inspire me to express the bond between person and dog through artwork, celebrating the uniqueness in each subject, exploring artwork beyond realism. To keep exploration fresh, I choose to work in several mediums such as oil and acrylic paint, oil and soft pastel, ink, graphite, photography, and colored pencil.
Lintu Art's studio in the Northrup King Building is open each First Thursday and by appointment.
