I hired this contractor to construct a garage foundation, slab and driveway. He gave me a quote in writing that was similar to other quotes I received. I hired him to do the work and he started in a timely manner but then disappeared. It took over 2 months to pour the foundation and it was poorly done. Since I had a contract with him and it was difficult to start over, I continued to work with him. He came back and told me the excavation was more work than quoted and he needed more money to finish. I reluctantly paid him more but asked for the excavation to be graded for final landscaping on my property to my satisfaction. When we finally got to the driveway portion (last step) - he put his forms in place then told me it was too much work for the price - demanding another $4000. At this point, he was holding up everything on the project and his forms were in place. I asked about his original quote and he told me that he did NOT measure teh area but used a ballpark in his quote. I told him that was not my problem but then he refused to do work and was ready to walk. This whole situation with him turned into a mess and really was NOT worth the hassle. If I can spare anyone the frustration of working with this man who does not communicate and changes his quote, I have done a service for you. I WOULD NOT hire him again nor recommend him.
