In 2003, Omaha Eye & Laser Institute became the first surgery center to provide blade-free iLASIK in Nebraska, and in 2011 was the first clinic to provide blade-free laser cataract surgery in the state. Our goal at Omaha Eye & Laser Institute is to provide our patients with tomorrow’s surgical and laser technology today! John Liu, James Liu, and Mark Young are Nebraska’s most experienced all-laser cataract team. Each cataract surgeon at Omaha Eye & Laser Institute is board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties, and has decades of experience performing cataract procedures. In 2011, OELI surgeons were the first to provide blade-free laser cataract surgery in the state of Nebraska. Laser cataract surgery provides for more precise surgical results, translating to better vision without glasses after cataract surgery. Today at OELI, most patients who have laser cataract surgery with a premium multifocal lens implant are able to drive and read without glasses after surgery.
