Dr. LaRocca is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. LaRocca worked as a mechanical engineer upon after graduating, but then transitioned into medicine and received his medical doctorate from The Jefferson Medical College. Dr. LaRocca is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. LaRocca worked as a mechanical engineer upon after graduating, but then transitioned into medicine and received his medical doctorate from The Jefferson Medical College. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. His training in spinal surgery, throughout residency, included pediatric scoliosis training at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He also completed fellowship training in spine surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts obtaining intensive experience in all aspects of spine surgery including complex spinal reconstruction as well as the clinical management of disorders of the neck and back. Dr. LaRocca’s training is international, as he has had the privilege of visiting with the distinguished and world renowned spinal surgeon, Professor Jurgen Harms at the Klinicum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in Karlsbad, Germany. Dr. LaRocca has authored and presented research at national meetings including the North American Spine Society and has been in private practice devoted almost exclusively to disorders of the spine since 2001. Dr. LaRocca’s expertise as an orthopaedic surgeon is an integral part of a multidisciplinary approach to the care of the neck and back. As a leading spine specialist, he has extensive experience in minimally invasive and open techniques of spinal reconstruction, stabilization, and neural decompression of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
