Dr. McHugh fulfilled her general surgery internship and urology residency at the renowned Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She was selected as the Chief Resident in her final year of training. She obtained specialized training by partaking in extracurricular courses in inflatable penile prosthesis surgery, mid-urethral sling insertion for female stress urinary incontinence, placement of InterStim® sacral neuromodulator and in GreenLight® laser treatment for benign prostate hyperplasia.
