The idea for Pluckers was hatched in the dorm room of two UT freshmen in 1991. Dave and Mark realized that Austin was badly in need of a good "wings" restaurant that offered din-in, take-out, and delivery services. They decided if no one else had the pluck to do it, then they would have to take matters into their own hands and develop the concept themselves.
