Home of three museums, the Murals on Main Street, Looking for Lincoln Heritage sites, and many historic buildings. Pontiac (IL) is home to the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame & Museum, the International Walldog Mural and Sign Art Museum, and the Livingston County War Museum. We have 19 large, outdoor painted murals which comprise the Murals on Main Street walking tour. Downtown Pontiac offers great shopping in a historical district. The Livingston County Courthouse is considered one of the most beautiful courthouses in the state. There are 9 Looking for Lincoln exhibits in town and 5 Route 66 Heritage Trail exhibits. In addition, Pontiac has some wonderful parks, historic homes, and friendly people.
