Midwest Quick Lube and Tires is a company that does NOT stand by its work. They installed an engine that was installed improperly resulting in more damage. They refused to acknowledge their errors and refused to provide me a working automobile. In August 2011, Midwest Quick Lube Auto was retained to purchase and install a used engine in my station wagon. The station wagon is not driven frequently. Upon driving the vehicle on the expressway in December 2011 the check engine and other lights started flashing. The car could not go over 35 mph without stuttering. I pulled off the expressway to discover the car was smoking. I slowly drove side streets to my local mechanic. Following a diagnostic review of the car I learned that the engine that was installed by Midwest Quick Lube Auto was installed using original parts, in addition, there was a bolt missing, another engine component that should have been plugged in, was not. Because the old parts were not replaced, there was a tube that was cracked, another tube for the turbo not re-installed, and a filter that was clogged (creating back-up of oil onto the engine). This activity caused misfires in spark plugs and the smoking I experienced during highway driving. This diagnostic cost me $90. I immediately contacted Jeff, the owner of Midwest Quick Lube Auto. Jeff told me he would contact my local car repairman regarding the diagnostic. Despite many attempts, Jeff never talked to me after that initial conversation.
