I have been in the municipal construction industry for 18 years and I have never experienced such a horrible contractor. I hired him to replace my septic tank and drain field. He did those 2 items but his final bill was 105% higher than his original estimate. He did not do his due diligence when preparing his original estimate and he didn't even check the depth of the existing septic tank. Upon leaving the jobsite he said "I will bring topsoil in after this settles and dries", I will repair the 40 foot of your fence that I removed and repair your 2 inch field sprinkler lines that I removed to install the drain field, he did none of these items. every contractor that I have ever met fixed every item that they broke on the jobsite. Patrick didn't seem to care what he broke. In the very beginning I told him the only reason that I was hiring him was because he did such a stellar job on the neighbors place. In short I would never recommend Shamrock Construction and Excavating, LLC or Patrick to anybody.

Mike,
Your review fails to show the true events of what happened, so I will detail them here. In our 17 years in business, we have never run across a customer like you.
We bid on this project in accordance with the test hole that was dug on site. As stated on the permit, the field was to be a gravity field. If gravity flow could not be achieved, it needed to be a complex system. This was noted in your estimate! Gravity flow could not be achieved, so a complex system needed to be installed creating the extra cost.
Due to the complex system needing an additional tank, we ran into solid rock in the area where your new tank was to be placed- this also increased the cost due to a changed condition. We removed the fence in order to get a bigger machine in. Multiple times, your wife stated NOT to put fence back up.
Also, included in our estimate were three exclusions (meaning not included) that you continually ignored – 1) ground would be left at rough grade, 2) repair of sprinkler lines by others and 3) landscape by others.
You failed to state that we hauled in rock and prepped an RV pad for you which you FAILED to pay us.
The fact that you asked us to illegally tie in your RV dump to the new septic tank, says a lot about your character and goes against the ethics of a municipal worker. We refused to do your illegal tie in.
We did a stellar job on your neighbor’s place because he paid for the topsoil, sod and sprinkler repair. He had the same exclusions as you, but he was a gentleman to work for.
Next time, pay attention to alternates and exclusions on your estimates.
