We bought a hedgehog from this store and while there noticed that his leg was extended more than normal. The worker picked him up and said it was fine. We noticed once we got home something truly was wrong. My daughter had grown attached to him, so we saw a vet that the store recommended. The vet stated that it was most likely nerve damage that could have occurred do to an injury during transport. He gave us some medicine and said he should be fine. This morning I found him dead. I waited until after school to break the news to my daughter. After consoling her from crying uncontrollably we headed to the store. The owner Justin never looked up at either of us, even with my child standing their visibly upset with her dead hedgehog in a box. Told us we would not get a refund and that we could get another hedgehog. When asked why he couldn't make eye contact or show any empathy for a sick hedgehog that he sold he said he was busy and he didn't kill it so why should he empathize. My daughters father asked me to let him handle it bec. he stated Justin was clearly being an ***hole. Justin then stated he had "good Christian customers" (caucasian) customers and we had to leave. Hmm, how did Christianity come into this? Mind you me and my child are saved Christians with a great church home and great Pastors. Justin was rude, showed no empathy, very unprofessional and after this encounter I am convinced Christianity wasn't the issue.
