The test, ONC107, is highly sensitive to CRC (93.75%) and also highly specific to CRC (82.89%). As importantly, the test yields a negative predictive value (NPV) of 99.9775%, meaning that a negative test result establishes with near certainty that an individual does not have CRC. Additional, prospective studies involving another 1,000 patients are underway to validate these encouraging, clinically significant results and to further establish ONC107's ability to detect dangerous pre-cancerous adenomatous polyps in the colon.
