I moved into alpine manor in Ames after a job promotion. The property manager, Brittany, was kind and accommodating to our situation. We came to terms on when to move in and the pet situation. She even made it clear that at any point, we are able to shift our lease to be "month-to-month". This sounded great since I wasn't sure if I'd be looking into buying my own place in the near future. I ended up moving to a different company, which meant leaving Ames. However, during the time when this occurred, we had transitioned between two other property managers. This was already frustrating, to not know who I'm actually going to. So, we were looking at the end of our lease, which was August 31st. The date at the time was around July 14th. AND, to a previous property manager, I had made it clear that we did not intend on renewing due to my job situation. That was made clear back in February. So, once we were looking at our way out, I wanted to make sure everything was well communicated. BUT, it started with not being able to actually go month-to-month, as Brittany had instructed us. The reason for this was that BBH management does not honor anything regarding previous property managers regardless of the fact that THEY hired the person. Thus, they hold no accountability for their own actions. And of course, the story only gets worse and worse.
