I'm writing this review to warn others about the business practices of PERFECT WATER Lehigh Acres, FL. In Feb. 2019 I had a problem with my water softener and I called for PERFECT WATER to come out. They charged me a $75.00 service call fee and 5 minutes later advised that I needed a new Timer Head. The part was ordered and they came back out the following day, charged another $75.00 service fee for the same job and installed the Timer Head. Total time spent in 2 visits approx. 30 minutes for a total billing of $327.00. A few months later I starting having the same problems again, but I was still able to operate the unit manually. Finally in Jan 2020 the Softener stopped working all together. I immediately called PERFECT WATER and they advised that the 11 month old timer head had no warranty. Their solution was to come back out at an additional fee of $190.00. At that point I brought in a professional water contractor to evaluate our entire water system. During this inspection it was determined that Perfect Water had not installed the complete Timer Head that I paid for. The partial Head ( approx. value $90.00) did not not have a new piston and other key plumbing replacements. This was the first that I was made aware of this. I contacted several water contractors and the average cost for a complete new head installed was $275.00--I paid $327.00 for a partial head that did not fix the problem?? PERFECT WATER was contacted on 3 occasions and given every opportunity to reimburse us in some manner. PERFECT WATER RESPONDED IN WRITING REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING AND ADVISED THEY WOULD NO LONGER CORRESPOND WITH US ON THE MATTER??
With the original charge of $327.00 and the additional new charge of $190,00 I would have had $517.00 in repair fees on my older unit. I then contacted a reputable contractor who came out the same day and gave me a free estimate and I had a totally new digital softener installed at a total cost of $600.00 including a 3 year warranty. THERE ARE SEVERAL REPUTABLE CONTRACTORS OUT THERE WHO WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A FREE ESTIMATE AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THEM TO AVOID BEING GOUGED ON EXCESSIVE SERVICE CALL FEES. As a retired bank executive I'm highly service and customer oriented, and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH PERFECT WATER IN LEHIGH ACRES, FL. BUYER BEWARE!
