ADX built a beautiful deck on the back of our house looks amazing. Great craftsmanship. Would defiantly use them again. Owner Donnie has great customer service, Professional. Check adx construction. Out on Facebook they have tons of photos of my deck and lots of other work they have done.

ADX built a deck in fall 2018 that failed inspection, even though Donnie told me it passed. After the city contacted me a second time, I set up a meeting with Donnie and the inspector to look at the deck, one year after it was built, to discuss why it failed and what needed to be done to bring it up to code. Donnie told me he would be out to fix the deck the following spring (2020) and he provided me an estimate of $1,703 to fix his mistake! I did not agree that I should pay for a landing and stairs when I already paid for it when it was originally built (why should I have to pay for 2 landings/stairs and only end up with one?). Spring 2020 came and went with no ADX/Donnie to fix their failed deck. I tried calling/texting Donnie, all unanswered/ignored. I tried working with Donnie, but because I was not a paying customer, he did not want to work with me. So now I'm left with a deck I can't use. After it was apparent ADX was not going to fix their mistake, that is when I left my original review of my experience, on June 1 (18 months after ADX built a failed deck). I called the city to see if there was anything I could do. After a reinspection on June 4, the city issued ADX/Donnie a Correction Order to bring the deck up to code. That is the ONLY reason Donnie came out to 'repair' the deck, NOT because he was working with me or trying to make things right. Donnie attempted to 'repair' the deck June 8 and 9. On June 10 I had the inspector come out just to tell me it FAILED again! Donnie was told twice, by two different inspectors, what he needed to do to bring it up to code. On July 13 the city issued Donnie an Adjudication Order. Donnie refused to bring his work to code so I had no choice but to take him to small claims court. We had our day in court on Oct 13 and judgment was made in my favor, the plaintiff, against ADX/Donnie Sears. Why would a judge rule in my favor if there wasn't cause? Judgment has not been paid by Donnie to date.
I do not think it nice of a contractor to lie to their customer and make them feel like it is their fault the deck failed inspection. I did not build the deck, ADX did. I did not tell the inspectors to fail it, I do not have that kind of power.
I did find a different contractor to bring the deck up to code, someone who took pride in their work, who knew what they were doing. The deck finally passed inspection, but what a headache this experience has been.
