Brad and Bruce Avery are crooks who take advantage of single women who need work done. My neighbor had some electrical done in her basement so I asked them to give me a bid for installing a stove outlet in my basement. Bruce came over with his "electrician," Doug Maxfield, who I found out was not licensed but thought working under his brother, who is, is ok. It's not. They told me it would be $60 an hour but wouldn't tell me how many hours it would take. That should've been my red flag but I needed it done ASAP. Three days and 17 hours later Doug told me it would be $1020 plus $116 for materials. I talked him down to $900 but later canceled the check and talked to the Avery brothers who saw no problem with that amount. Doug threatened lawsuits and liens on my home if I didn't pay. Beware of these shady crooks and their open ended bids. They are NOT licensed and will take complete advantage.
