After waiting 6 months to have some excavating done - taking MY fill and putting in an area where there was once a pool -( fill in large hole). - As I went out to talk to Mr. Clark, he was getting in his truck and leaving - with my fill. Upon coming back, I waited outside to speak to him. I asked why he was taking my fill to another location and he said he had assumed I didn't want it (without asking me that day). I told him not to take any more fill and would I get a credit for taking two loads away. With that, he said, he has to pay someone to take it - $30 a load. It was $70 to haul it away. (good adding). No one, no matter who you are is going to go out of their way at their cost to do something. I am sure without a doubt that where my fill was being haulied ,it wasn't a cost to the excavator. I'm sure he got paid very well. When I asked him prior to coming and filling the pool area, he said the cost would be about $400 to $500. If I wanted any of my fill taken away, he could sell it for me for about $105 a load - IF I wanted it taken away. So the price that he figured for the day of service which included taking my fill away without permission was $700. Really! I told him I only had $600 which he said, yes, he would take it. I was very disappointed in the service to taking something without permission. At best, it should have been returned and charging more than what he first said was also a disappointment. Lesson learned - get everything in writing.
