Shop around. Had them come and provide me with an estimate to fix a leak in my roof. I was provided an estimate of $650 to remove and replace the shingles, felt, and the wood. When I asked when this work was going to be completed I was told that the company would call me to schedule an appointment approximately 3 days before they could do the work. A week later I called to see when I could be placed on the schedule and was again told that they would call me. Well the next day I receive an invoice in my email stating that the work was completed. When I looked at the problem area it was obvious that no work was done. I called and they told me that the worker came out and worked on a different part of my roof and they would send him out again to work in the correct area. Keep in mind that this worker showed up and worked on my home without my knowledge or even a courtesy call. When he finally showed up to work in the correct area he stated that there were just a few shingles bad and replaced them. I watched the whole repair operation and only 5-6 shingles were replaced. Thinking that the estimate included work that was not completed, I would pay significantly less than the estimate I called the company and asked. After some discussion (and two weeks) I finally had my estimate reduced by $45. So basically I was charged $605 for a few shingles and less than an hour's worth of work. If they quoted me that price for just that work I would have said no thanks.
