6/10/20 I made a purchase in this store totaling approx $130. One of the purchases was a Intex blow up pool. There were 3 in the store. 2 were prices at 69.99, and 1 was 59.99. I told the young, and very sweet girl working that I would take the 59.99 one and she agreed she would also. We chatted at how I was trying to support the local shops that were open as I recently returned to full salary after weeks of taking a cut in pay because of CoVid19. immediately after making my purchase I went to Rite Aid, which is maybe 2 blocks away. While there I saw the exact same pool for $29.99. I took my receipt out to return to Beach Authority and return the pool they charged me twice as much for, and realized the receipt said NO RETURNS. I immediately called the store and explained my situation only to be told there were no returns at all because of CoVid19. I explained I had just been there and it was an UNOPENED BOX for a pool. The young man who answered the phone said he would check with his boss and return the call. To his credit he did return my call and stated that his boss wouldn't allow the return. I asked for them to match the price or offer some sort of discount as it was literally DOUBLE THE PRICE as the store 2 blocks away, and the purchase was made less than 15 minutes prior. At that point I asked for a call back from the manager or owner and we hung up. I have not received a call back yet. I think it is terrible practice to price gauge when people are struggling to make ends meet, and actually supporting their small business. I am very disappointed in this establishment and I will no longer be a patron. Sad to feel taken advantage of, especially in what has been a difficult start of the year for so many. (They allow you to shop INSIDE their store and try on clothing, yet will bot accept a return of an UNOPENED pool.)
