The Boxcar Cafe & Gift Shop is located in the heart of downtown Dunedin on the Pinellas Trail ( a few steps down from Main Street). We are known as Dunedin's 'Local Coffee Shop", and have a great selection of locally designed T-shirts, sweatshirts, gift mugs, and more. The Boxcar Cafe & Gift Shop is located in the heart of downtown Dunedin on the Pinellas Trail ( a few steps down from Main Street). We are known as Dunedin's 'Local Coffee Shop", and have a great selection of locally designed T-shirts, sweatshirts, gift mugs, and more. Established in 1997, the business is inside an actual railway car and attached to the old Dunedin Depot which is now the Historical Society. As part of the nationwide Rails-to-Trails program, the Pinellas Trail we reside by follows the original railway line of the Orange Belt Railroad that ran between St. Petersburg and Tarpon Sprngs. The Boxcar has adapted over the years from a skate shop, to a cafe with a post office, and is currently a cafe and gift shop.
