When my father helped me get my first home in 1964 as a 16-year-old, I began a love affair with real estate. The intricacies of home-buying fascinated me so much I decided then and there on a career helping people buy their dream homes. When I obtained my local real estate agent license in 1979, I started the R.N. Greene Realty, and built it into the biggest property firm in DeLand, Florida. By the early 1990s, we’d already owned or brokered half a billion dollars worth of real estate properties in West Volusia. I also developed subdivisions, including Blue Lake Hills, Big Lake Estates, Estates of Glenwood, and the Eagleridge at the River.
