The Halltown Medical Rescue (QRU) was the first all volunteer First Responder organization in the state of MO (1979), aimed at responding to medical and trauma emergencies apart from any fire departments. Mary White of Halltown and 7 other great people saw a need for emergency medical care in the community before an ambulance could arrive, so they organized the Halltown QRU (quick response unit) with the help of Dr. John M.
