I do not think cab fare should be cheap you are paying for convenience. Especially when you consider gas prices. Unless you are disable why did not you walk to Walmart. I once lived near Walmart not as close as you and I manage to walk there and catch a cab from the same company with no problem. As a matter of fact I caught a cab by the same company recently and it was just as great as the first time I used their service. I was lucky enough to get a ride from the owner Justin. He is a young entrepreneur . I told him about the negative comments he has been receiving from customers and he was not pleased. He stated that he started this business on his own four years ago. He is in the process of expanding his fleet of cab automobiles and plan on get a SUV or van to take on multiple passengers . So cut him a break its not easily but he is making an excellent go of it so good for him. I rather use his service than an illegal service that is going around posing as a cab company without proper papers or proof of licensing to operate a cab service. HINT if they did not have a meter install they are not a cab service. Beside anyone claim to be yellow or checker cab without the proper credentials the police is looking for you so be aware . Also these cabs charge way more and not as nice.
